unique giftware.

While you browse through my gallery photos please note that the page contains only a small sample of the 
things I have built and is meant to give you a sense of the variety and quality of my work.  Although I can 
build you an exact piece that you see, I can also modify their dimensions to suit your needs or build you 
something entirely new.  That’s what custom furniture and cabinetry is all about – you get what you want 
to fit just right into that special place.

My work is inspired by Shaker furniture, which is furniture of 
timeless designs and widely admired for its clean lines, 
functionality, and quality joinery.  I build each piece using 
old world craftsmanship utilizing proven methods such as 
mortise and tenon and dovetail joinery.  Although I 
incorporate power tools when necessary, I cut all the
dovetails by hand for a great fit and for that pleasing look
only a hand cut dovetail joint will yield.  Furniture built with
these methods will last a lifetime and beyond.

I mainly use native hardwoods such as cherry, which is 
harvested and dried at a small, local sawmill located just 
North of here.  I carefully hand select all the wood to ensure
that grain and color is perfectly matched to compliment the
shape of each piece - boards are never randomly selected.  
It may take more time to find that extra special board, but it
is worth it in the end.

Most of the items are finished with multiple coats of a hand
rubbed oil finish which allows the wood to gracefully age while 
allowing the natural warmth of the wood grain to show.
Furniture finished this way not only needs to be seen but felt as well.

In addition to building custom furniture and cabinetry I also make a small line of high quality gift items available
throughout local art and craft shops in the Adirondack and New England regions.  I am constantly developing unique
items for display and will update the gallery page to reflect this when they are available.  Please feel free to contact
